Welcome to Heartstrings Community Project!

We are a Christian, community-based organisation that was started in 2013 by my husband Michael Strydom and myself, Paula.  Our vision is to empower disadvantaged people with hope and dignity.
We started from our home in Kloof, South Africa, creating products from recycled items and the resources found around us.
Our heart is to bring communities together – connecting the disadvantaged to the more advantaged communities.
Through the work of the team at Heartstrings and the products that were made and sold, we have been able to impact the communities local to us through upliftment, support and empowerment.
Due to the popularity of our products and the growing market, in 2014 Heartstrings Trading Co was birthed as its own entity from Heartstrings Community Project; a baby heart with potential to grow.
Heartstrings, too, was growing in the impact it was having on family lives in the community of Molweni, close to the base in Kloof. With the Trading Co now a separate entity, producing beautiful products, we were in a position to apply for our PBO number as we believe that Heartstrings Community Project has so much to offer and we wanted the opportunity to partner with individuals and organizations on a larger scale.  As you will see however, from the Facebook pages, both are still very much entwined with each other, just like the logo on our home page shows.
By collaborating with reputable organizations, we are enabled to do more, be more effective and sustain projects that have been started by responsibly determining the need of a community. This way holds the receiver of your kindness accountable and safeguards your generosity.
Be careful though, many lone rangers are pulling the ‘pay it forward’ band wagon and exploiting good people. Check things out carefully and if it doesn’t feel right, it probably isn’t.
We invite you to be a part of the Heartstrings Family and would really appreciate your support to allow us to grow the impact we are having in the communities we work in.
There are so many other families and schools we could help if we had the resources, so please step out in Love and sow in Faith to empower us to provide a future of Hope.
